I am a passionate but grounded fine art practitioner who is constantly exploring and reflecting the world around me. I am a qualified Art Teacher with three years’ experience of secondary school education, a role which requires organisation, determination and realistic goals. I have gained MA with distinction in 2007 and since then taken part in exhibitions. That includes participation in Rugby Gallery open and becoming featured Newcomer to Coventry for 2012.
I choose subjects and media with meaning and serious intent. I primarily work in 2D media, recently concentrating on drawing and painting. Combination of ink or acrylic washes overlaid with linear drawing is a technique that I have specialised at. I am currently analysing the meaning of womanhood in modernity, contrasting traditional female values with today’s aspirations and expectations. This project was developed from the four countries I have lived in – Poland, Lithuania, Italy and the UK – and their variations on the place of women in society. I have recently moved to UAE where I continue my exploration of womanhood.
I challenge this received wisdom by being realistic and grounded while, at the same time, maintaining the creativity, artistic expression and technical skills required to be called an artist.
